This Privacy Policy explains what information Football Detective (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the Football Detective website (football-detective.com) and our mobile app, and how it is used. By using the website or the app you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account: when you play, an account is created — by default an anonymous “guest” account identified by a random id. If you choose to Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address (and, for Google, your profile photo) as provided by that service. With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email, in which case we receive only a private relay address.
Gameplay data: your progress — games played, scores, streaks, ratings, stats and achievements — stored via Google Firebase (Firestore) so it persists across sessions and devices.
Leaderboard: if you submit a daily score with a chosen “detective name”, that name and score are shown publicly on the leaderboard. Your email and account id are never shown publicly.
Usage & diagnostics: we use Google Firebase to collect basic, app-level usage and diagnostic information to keep the app working and understand which features are used.
Purchases: if you buy the Detective Club or Remove Ads, payment is handled by the platform store — Stripe on the website and the Apple App Store in the iOS app. We use RevenueCat to validate and manage app purchases. We never receive or store your card details — only a record that your account holds the entitlement.
Advertising identifiers (app): the app shows ads via Google AdMob, which may use your device’s advertising identifier. On iOS we ask your permission first via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, you still see ads, but they are not personalized using that identifier.

Cookies, advertising & local storage

We use browser/device storage to keep you signed in and to remember your settings. We display ads using Google AdSense on the website and Google AdMob in the app.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and/or device identifiers to serve ads based on your activity on this and other sites and apps.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, at aboutads.info/choices, and on iOS via your device’s tracking and privacy settings.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account and gameplay data until you ask us to delete it. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the address below.

Children

Football Detective is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
