Yes. Every player in the world gets the same mystery footballer each day, which is what makes comparing results and the leaderboard fair.
At midnight UTC. Depending on where you live that may be in the evening or the early morning.
The daily answer is drawn from a hand-curated list of well-known players whose details we have checked by hand. Difficulty follows a weekly rhythm — friendlier early in the week, tougher at the weekend — and the selection is spread out to avoid near-term repeats.
You get one attempt per day. If you come back after finishing, you’ll see your result rather than a fresh game. For unlimited practice, use Unlimited or Career Path mode.
Spelling, accents and small typos are tolerated, and many nicknames are accepted. If you typed only a surname, try the full name. If you still think the game got it wrong, email us at the address below — we fix data issues quickly.
100 points for a first-clue solve, minus 15 for each extra clue and 5 for each wrong guess (minimum 10), then multiplied by your streak bonus. The How to Play page has a worked example.
Daily scores are checked on our server, which confirms the correct player was named and recalculates the score itself, and only one entry per player per day is allowed. Players can’t write scores to the board directly.
You choose a detective name once, the first time you reach the leaderboard, and it then stays fixed. It is shown publicly next to your scores; your email and account details never are.
No. You start as a guest automatically. Signing in with Google or Apple is optional, but it keeps your progress safe and lets you continue on another device.
Guest progress is tied to that browser or device. Sign in before switching so your streak, stats and purchases follow you.
In the app, open your Account page and choose Delete account. This removes your profile, your leaderboard entries and your purchase records. You can also email us to request deletion.
A one-time unlock that adds post-game analysis (the Detective’s Notebook), every past Daily to replay (Case Files), themed Case Packs, your Detective Rating with in-depth stats, and a leaderboard badge. It also removes ads.
No. The Daily is identical for everyone, and nothing you can buy helps you solve it or improves your leaderboard position. The Club is extra content, insight and status — never an advantage.
No. Both the Detective Club and Remove Ads are one-time purchases that are yours to keep.
Yes, as long as you sign in with the same Google or Apple account in both places. Purchases are linked to your account, not your device.
